Scholarships
The Mayor’s Ball & Charity is a premier community event dedicated to investing in the future of Phenix City. Proceeds from the evening support scholarships for local students pursuing higher education and provide critical funding to nonprofit organizations that serve and strengthen our community. Through generosity and partnership, the Mayor’s Ball continues to uplift the next generation while empowering the organizations that make Phenix City thrive.
Golf Tournament
The Mayor’s Ball Golf Tournament brings community leaders, businesses, and residents together for a day of competition and philanthropy. Proceeds from the tournament support mini-grant donations that help local agencies continue delivering essential services to citizens throughout Phenix City.

Through the generosity of sponsors, partners, and attendees, the Mayor’s Ball & Charity has raised more than $100,000, directly supporting scholarships for local students and providing funding to nonprofit organizations that serve the citizens of Phenix City.

Over the years, The Phenix City Mayor’s Ball has awarded more than $1.2 million in scholarships, over $200, 000 for dual-enrollment, and $50,000 to various nonprofit organizations. Our organization has four endowments at esteemed institutions: University of Alabama, Troy University, Tuskegee University, and Columbus State University. Special appreciation is extended to our host for 10 years , actor Palmer Williams Jr., known for his roles in House of Payne and Love Thy Neighbor, and to our local radio host Dave Arwood. Previous Mayor Ball performances have featured notable celebrities, including the late singer and actress Angie Stone, actress and director Kim Fields, former NFL player and ESPN analyst Anthony. “Booger” McFarland, actor and producer Joseph Sikora, actress and producer Vivica A. Fox, actor and singer Taye Diggs, actress and model LisaRaye McCoy.
